Paper Description

Edit Paper Description Content

In this paper, in association with its co-requisite COUNS545 Professional Practice of Counselling, you have the opportunity to develop and strengthen your practice of counselling, adding to and extending the abilities and knowledges you have already developed in the first level papers. You will have the opportunity to engage in and reflect on a range of professional counselling activities in a practicum setting in order to further develop your practice, and to articulate clearly the practice positions you employ and the theoretical and ethical positions they produce and are produced by. You will work with a university programme supervisor as you prepare yourself in these ways for professional practice. In this paper, students will develop their professional identity through articulating their practice. The paper culminates in the production of a folio in which accounts of narrative practice illustrate what you have come to profess.
